Brianna K. Potts was born and raised in southeast Iowa. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Iowa State University, where she developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking and the study of human behavior. During her time at Iowa State, Brianna earned Dean’s List Honors each semester and served as Vice President of the Pre-Law Club. Brianna went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2022.
During law school and immediately after passing the Iowa Bar examination, her primary area of focus was medical malpractice litigation. In that capacity, Brianna gained valuable courtroom experience by observing and participating in several complex, multi-week jury trials. This exposure strengthened her litigation skills and reinforced the importance of thorough preparation and effective advocacy, skills which translate directly into zealous advocacy in criminal defense.
Shortly after passing the Iowa Bar, Brianna became licensed to practice in the state of Illinois and expanded her practice into criminal defense. In addition to being dually barred, Brianna has completed National Highway Safety Traffic Administration for DUIs in Alpharetta, Georgia and the Deryl Dantzler Trial Practice Institute for the National Criminal Defense College.
Brianna represents clients in a variety of criminal matters, including successfully appealing Department of Transportation decisions, bond reviews, probation revocation hearings, and other related criminal proceedings. Brianna is committed to providing diligent, strategic representation while protecting her clients’ rights throughout every stage of the legal process.
